International hackerspace Open day 2022

Every last Saturday of March there is International Open Hackerspace Day.

For this 2022 edition we propose to open our lab doors on Saturday March 26th and also to have a moment of meetings and conviviality on the lawn of the Square Léon Bourgeois in front of the Biohackerspace Kaouenn Noz. We are waiting for you with open tables, snacks and drinks to share, you can also bring your own snacks and drinks.

from 2pm to 5pm at Kaouenn Noz, see access.

For this event we want to host & welcome, discuss, exchange, on a thematic question :

Do biohackerspaces and hackerspaces have a role to play in welcoming refugees and exiles?

To fuel these reflections, to feed concrete actions, and to act in contribution with others, we are partnering with the Third Place Making Foundation and other hackerspaces and communities to make this day a meaningful moment.

Biohackerspaces and hackerspaces allied for this day

How to contribute and ally with this theme we have chosen?

Good point and It's not described in the wiki.

My suggestion:

Each space / community self organize and describe this “local event” (shortly) in their own language and wiki.

We can briefly discuss with email, riot/Element, wiki discussion.

Local self organized community will run the event on their own (Time zone, weather, any other factors), with notes and also documentation.

It's deeply important to avoid overload and overburden stuff during an event based on hospitality and conviviality, like online videoconferencing just for screenshots and so on.

After this “distributed” event and our specific topic, we will gather all produced resources and linked them.
And we will try to find a consensus for an online wrap up (BBB videoconference, day/hour, etc).

or

  • Write yourself a description of your event on March 26 with your own activities on the question Do biohackerspaces and hackerspaces have a role to play in welcoming refugees and exiles? , then send it to us
